RIP

Last week I read the news and heard a hardware shop has a three alarm fire that took 14 fire departments to control.  The fire just so happened to be at my favorite Breyer/ tack dealer.  I just am getting back from seeing the damage. Here are some photos.  The area that shows sky is where the roof collapsed. Good news is they are moving to a new location and I'm hoping for a larger store!

Cat!

So last Friday I was riding my horse and noticed a weird looking pile in our indoor arena.  It was a cat! With bird feathers and sand in her coat.  She wasn't moving and looked really malnourished.  She was definitely not one of our barn cats.  I picked her up and noticed she was declawed.  She was someone's pet but not anymore. Her whole coat was mated down to the skin making it hard to move.  I shaved her down to make her more comfortable.  She was severely dehydrated and under weight and was too weak to eat or drink.  So I force fed her and still am.  Although her hydration levels are normal now! I am hoping to take her to a vet this week.

Progress

Suuupppper slow progress. Not due to time, it's just pain stakingly slow to cross stitch a pad! Can't wait for a patterned one. My pads are $30 due to the sheer amount of labor hours it requires! Ive got to be at least 40 hours in and not even half way! I'm lucky if I get three rows done. Im thinking I'll make a trim on the edge. Not sure yet

New saddle!

So between work, making the foal training set, and doctor appts. I decided a new real saddle sounded like a great idea! But wait! I have three saddles already! I have a jumping saddle, dressage saddle, and western. What other saddle must a warmblood need?! An AUSIE! That's right! I bought an Australian stock saddle!
